Kumitantei: Old School Slaughter Announces Demo

Indie developer Mango Factory released a gameplay trailer to announce the September demo release and Kickstarter launch for their upcoming horror, murder-mystery game Kumitantei: Old School Slaughter. With visual novel-like socialization, card battles and artistic inspiration from 1980s Japan anime and pop culture, Kumitantei is shaping up to be a real treat for fans of the Dangonropa series.

The story unfolds around a military-funded school for exceptional students where, 35 years ago, a group of students mysteriously vanished. Shortly after the principal suspiciously disappeared. Fast forward to the present, and a new group of students finds themselves in a similar predicament. They are then forced to participate in a psychological experiment by a sadistic feline overseer.

Play as timid barista Himari Sanada as she awakens in an apocalyptic bunker with 16 other students. Together, they must navigate this macabre environment and hopefully make it out with their lives.

As Himari, you will solve complex cases while building relationships with a colorful cast of characters. Then leverage those bonds to gain advantages against opponents in fast-paced card battle debates. Players will enjoy hand-drawn, retro anime visuals and the hair-raising atmospheric soundtrack by Hundotte as they explore the halls of Kumitantei.
