From the same development team that brought you Cruise Ship Manager and Creature Lab, Haunted House Renovator provides a spooky twist on the soothing house flipping simulator. Like your grandfather before you, you use your spectral tools to help soothe spirits and refurbish haunted homes. Spectres, goblins, and ghouls of all sorts will try and interfere with your work.

Between stain removal and wallpaper placement, you must complete puzzles and search for hidden objects in ghost challenges. As you banish and release spirits, some might even reward you with hidden treasure. But beware of the Wraith, as the strongest ghost of the house will try to possess you and ruin your hard work!

The Haunted House Renovator demo is currently live on Steam, and it takes you through an introductory mission to renovate your grandfather’s old apartment. Clearly, there was more to your old man than met the eye! And now that the game has been funded over 180% on Kickstarter, the Haunted House Renovator: Prologue has been announced to release in Q4 of 2024 ahead of the game’s full release. 

The prologue will be a sneak peek at everything the full game will have to offer. This includes improved UI, 2D cutscenes, secret passageways, an upgrade system, enhanced magic circles, and many, many more mechanics. Haunted House Renovator: Prologue will take you through a mad painter’s old home and will be available for free! Those headed to PAX East will have the opportunity to play the demo at PlayWay’s booth.

While a release date hasn’t been set for the full game, the present demo and the reaction of participants at the last Steam Next Fest were highly encouraging. Already, Haunted House Renovator feels like a fully realized game, and it’s only going to get better from here.
