Defense is the best offense in The Knightling. Developed by Twirlbound and produced by Saber Interactive, The Knightling is an action-adventure open world game where your only weapon is the shield left behind by your mentor. 

Good Things Come In Small Packages

Sir Lionstone, legendary knight-protector of Clesseia, never returned from his last mission. It is up to you, his squire, to take up his shield and set out to find him before disaster befalls the land. You must master your blocks and parries to create the ideal opening, before unleashing massive attack combos to finish off your foes. Sir Lionstone’s shield, like Captain America’s, contains a mysterious element within it. Harness the power of Callyrium to level up the shield, and your strength with it.

The Knightling also has a good deal of 3D platforming. Your shield isn’t just meant for blocking, but sledding! And you can use your movement combos to utilize the shield’s momentum to help you get around. Your adventure will take you across multiple regions of Clesseia, each with their own unique dangers to navigate, as well as their own fearsome foes.

Twirlbound is a small independent game company from Breda, The Netherlands, that creates high-end action-adventure games of all kinds. Their first and previous release was Pine, a collaboration between Marc Peyré and Matthijs van de Laar while they were in school for game development. Pine was their last school project and the commercial project around which they founded Twirlbound. It released in October of 2019 to rousing success, and they are sure to have only grown in experience and skill with the development of The Knightling.
