We hope you stocked up on your antivenom potions because RuneScape 3’s Araxxor skittered into Old School RuneScape August 28, 2024! Just pick up an Araxyte Task from Nieve or Duradel (requiring level 92 Slayer), and you’re ready to start exterminating some spiders.

Araxxor is unique from other Slayer bosses because it offers players two different ways to approach the task. Throughout the fight, araxyte eggs around the room will hatch periodically. These hatchlings include acidic, explosive, and mirrorback varieties.
Players can opt to deal with them as they hatch, resulting in faster kill times, or go the slow approach and crush the eggs before those araxytes ever become a problem. If you’re looking to complete your Slayer task even faster, there are a number of spots where you can take on some smaller araxytes in multi-combat and skip Araxxor altogether. Doing so gives you a chance at the new Aranea Boots, although you’ll miss out on the new Araxxor drops.

Speaking of drops, a new Slayer boss comes with new unique loot, and I, for one, am super excited for the pet. If you’re lucky, you’ll start with Nid, who is probably a little less cute than you were expecting. Defeat Araxxor fast enough and use the obtained coagulated venom to get your very own Rax. Of course, you’re more likely to walk away with the Araxyte Head. Luckily, the Araxxor Slayer Helmet looks just as wicked. The extra eyes are a nice touch.
