Pathea Games’ My Time series is getting a face lift with its newest announcement. My Time at Evershine has been announced with a Kickstarter that raised nearly one million dollars within 24 hours!
The My Time series is a sandbox crafting sim RPG, with each game taking place in a different Free City. The first two games, My Time at Portia and My Time at Sandrock, both feature chibi-esque 3D styles where your character is a Builder new to town. You’re tasked with crafting buildings, tools, and structures that affect not only your relationships with the townspeople, but the city and landscape around you. These games have been massively successful, with a very dedicated fanbase. Nothing makes that clearer than the instantly successful funding that My Time at Evershine received. At this time, the game’s been 721% funded and stands to unlock even more features with 24 days left in the campaign.

The Story Continues
My Time at Evershine takes place three years after the events of My Time at Sandrock. Tensions rise between The Alliance of Free Cities and the Duvos Empire, which has moved in on some important ruins. More than just a Builder, you are among a number of settlers moving in to found the city of Evershine. You and your townsfolk are on the frontlines of a border dispute, but your main focus is building both your city and your relationships.
A number of things are changing with My Time at Evershine. Pathea Games has taken all the commentary and criticism from both Portia and Sandrock to heart and made sure to address them all with this new release. The gameplay loop is tighter, with a more decisive ending that doesn’t drag. All of the romance options are getting equal treatment and development, customized to players’ tastes. The crafting system is being revamped to be more user friendly and easier on multiplayer games. Most notably, though, the art style has gotten a massive revamp. The characters no longer sport the large, cartoony heads of the iconic chibi-esque style sported in the first two games. The environment and characters both are more realistically proportioned and the whole cast will be fully voiced.

Things are looking really promising for the rest of My Time at Evershine’s development. The Kickstarter represents an adrenaline shot to a game and a developer that have already experienced explosive growth. We cannot wait for the final release, and you can be sure we’ll keep you all up to date.
