Galactic Thunderdome Enters the Arena

Mad Max’s Thunderdome has come to the galactic stage, and it is a blood bath. Montreal-based developer Pansimula has officially launched their newest title, the sci-fi platform brawler Galactic Thunderdome. Drawing inspiration from beloved platform fighters of their youth, the four-member “basement team” has crafted a game that pays homage to classics like Worms and Soldat.

Wacky, Bloody Fun

Galactic Thunderdome offers an exciting experience with 80 items and 10 playable characters, set across more than 40 simulated physics arenas. Players will encounter destructible terrain, traps, gases, winds, glues, fires, grappling hooks, and more, creating a dynamic and chaotic battlefield. A demo is currently available on Steam, and Pansimula confirms that the game runs smoothly on Steam Deck.

In this platform brawler, players engage in thrilling combat within a vibrant, physics-based world that will knock your ribcage out. Galactic Thunderdome provides a massive playground for cartoonish mayhem. The game supports up to eight players locally and five online through an integrated Steam Remote Play lobby system. It requires controllers for multiplayer action, so make sure you have some on hand before diving in.

Players can battle against or alongside friends in over 30 maps across various game modes. These include Deathmatch, Treasure Hunt, Last Stand, and the single-player Gauntlet, where they can earn the title of Galactic Champion. The developers are also working on additional modes and maps, so you can expect more excitement from future updates.

To stay updated on the game’s development and engage with the team, be sure to follow Galactic Thunderdome on X and join the conversation on Discord. It’s no easy task to master the chaos of the Thunderdome, but as a Galactic Combatant it’s your duty to conquer the mayhem or die trying.

Galactic Thunderdome is out now for PC on Steam. It retails at $19.99.
