Escape the Charon Comes to Steam on Friday

Escape The Games, a family development team, is thrilled to announce their new sci-fi adventure puzzle game, Escape the Charon. The game is coming to Steam in Q2 2025, following its feature in the IndieMania Showcase. Players can look forward to the demo, set to launch on November 8, 2024.

PUT IT BACK

Escape the Charon begins with the discovery of an ancient monolith in a dying planet’s desert at the galaxy’s edge. The artifact’s unknown hieroglyphs chilled the archaeological team, as humanity hasn’t yet encountered alien life. They reached out to Andrea West and her team on space-station Charon to ask for help uncovering its origins.

Meanwhile, James West is piloting his ship to Earth for some much-needed leave. However, he received an urgent message from his sister Andrea, only to be cut off mid-sentence. All communication with the station is dark. Concerned, James sets course back to Charon.

In Escape the Charon, you take on the role of James West. Search for clues, solve puzzles, and unravel the mystery surrounding this dark turn of events in the ultimate escape room. The art style and the premise are already giving me very strong Dead Space vibes, however the gameplay focus will be much more in line with titles like House of Da Vinci.

Escape Room? More Like Escape Station

Escape The Games is dedicated to crafting immersive worlds that blend the best elements of adventure and puzzle games. They want to focus on unique and engaging stories delivered through this interactive gameplay, and Escape the Charon is their first release.

The six-member family team of Escape The Games (including their self-proclaimed boss, Bandit the Dog) have a shared passion for escape room video games. They aimed to create an experience that captures that excitement in a more dynamic sci-fi setting. Robert Stock expressed their enthusiasm, stating, “After months of hard work, it’s amazing to see Escape the Charon finally taking shape. As a small family studio, we’ve put so much thought and care into every detail of this adventure, hoping players connect with it. This is a huge milestone for us, and we’re excited to see our vision come to life.”

They will be posting updates of Escape the Charon‘s development on X, so follow or Wishlist the game to keep up with the latest news.
