I don’t know about you all, but I admit I have a perverse fascination with playing God Games (I’m not the Thunder Bringer, mind you). City builders and management sims with a mix of damnation for those who refuse to obey us are delightfully fun and challenging. Sintopia, by Piraknights Games and published by Team 17, follows in the foot (hoof?) steps of games like Cult of the Lamb, asking players to make questionable moral decisions that may or may not send someone to the depths of hell.
The demo has been out for a while now. Yes, there are impressive stats to back up just how many of us are depraved. But if you find that just wasn’t enough, you’re in luck! Sintopia is headed to Early Access September 4th, 2025.

To give us a taste of sinful pleasures, the demo has been revamped and features all the current content created by the developers. So, dive into the cause-and-effect of the OVERWORLD’s decisions and Hell’s management consequences.
New Features Abound
Additionally, the demo has added:
New Spell: Magmine. A throwable fireball that explodes on contact and spreads fire on the ground. If it does not hit a structure or a character, it becomes a landmine instead.
Key bindings: keyboard shortcuts are now listed in the game settings and can be rebound.
Fear and Motivation props rework: the props don’t cumulate anymore, requiring higher tier-props usage to reach maximum effect. Fear / Motivation technologies in the Liber Administratum have been merged so it’s less expensive to acquire them all.
New map objectives and new map modifiers.
New UI panel: information panel in the orbital view, which contains various stats (playtime, average sin, etc.) as well as a summary of Boons / Modifiers selected in Challenge Mode.
And last but not least:
- Some Quality of Life changes, including:
- Magic Resistance visual feedback.
- Dedicated alerts for Raids (Guacas, Demon spawns).
- All Specialist Punishment buildings are now tier 1 unlocks in the Liber Administratum (5 Hearos).
- Force Push is now more powerful the longer the drawn line is.
- Saints apparition is now occurring on resurrection, instead of randomly.
- Permanent highlight on interactive objects (Bells, Logs, Boats, etc.).
- A broad balancing pass, including making enemy number scale with difficulty, Demons spawning raids as soon as they land in their crater, etc.

Are you ready to build your hellish empire, punish damned souls and have a devilishly good time doing so? Grab the Sintopia demo today, and wishlist the full game.
