ODDLI Demo Delivers an Immensely Satisfying Puzzle Experience

We all know the satisfaction you feel when you finally figure out a puzzle that you’ve been struggling with. It scratches your brain in a way that makes even the most frustrating moments of trial-and-error worth it. In ODDLI, a cute and casual puzzle game by developer Tight Fit, that satisfaction comes to life with charming characters showing off your hard work through both visually and mentally pleasing choreography.

ODDLI has a demo out now in Steam Next Fest: June 2025, so I decided to tackle its satisfying puzzles for myself.

Play Against Your Memory

The goal of ODDLI is simple. You must get your character from their starting point to a little flag on the other side of the board. With a wide-open map ahead of you, this presents no challenge at all. But once you reach the flag, the character will return to their starting point, having memorized the path you took. Then comes your second character, who must reach their own flag without bumping into the first character.

As more and more characters join the level, you have more paths to memorize and contend with. With no idea what kind of characters and pathing will come next, each level relies on some trial and error—not to mention a good memory. Keeping your paths safely apart becomes more difficult, but the resulting choreography of all your little creatures moving in tandem becomes more and more satisfying.

Each level ends with an animation of the characters going through their paths on repeat, showing off the way they expertly move around the board without ever colliding, creating the perfect visual of the puzzle’s satisfying solution.

Escalating Challenges Keep Things Fresh

As the levels go on, difficulty increases with interesting board shapes, unique character movements, and, of course, increasing numbers of paths to figure out. For a little extra challenge, though, later levels offer bonus points for including specific movements in your pathing.

For example, you might have to go left then down at some point in your movement, even though your destination is up and to the right. It makes figuring out your pathing more difficult, but it also gets you thinking more creatively—and definitely results in more interesting (and yes, satisfying) choreography.

ODDLI also offers an endless mode, which you can unlock after beating all the demo’s levels. It features a massive board and the potential for up to 99 created paths, though getting anywhere near that far without completely cutting yourself off takes careful thought and planning. The board fills up faster than you think, and while there’s plenty of room to navigate, simply leaving space for your next character to be able to get started becomes a challenge in and of itself.

A Lush and Inviting Atmosphere

The game’s levels—which are all named after different cities and attractions across the world—take place across several adorable, lovingly designed biomes, including a rainy valley, a bright desert, and a cozy autumn wood. The characters you control are tailored to each unique environment, adding to the cozy feel. Every world has its own music, too, and the bright, whimsical soundtrack goes a long way toward enhancing the game’s rich and immersive atmosphere.

All these elements work together to create a comfy environment that is all too easy to settle into as you tackle each puzzle.

Satisfyingly Addictive

The casual puzzles, comfy designs, and rewarding experience turn ODDLI from a simple idea to a game overflowing with charm and personality. No matter how many levels you solve, you’re always going to be itching for at least one more.
