Get Ready to Dive with Still Wakes the Deep’s ‘Siren’s Rest’ DLC

Still Wakes the Deep, the 2024 horror game developed by The Chinese Room and published by Secret Mode, where you work on an oil rig that gets invaded by an Eldritch abomination, is getting a new piece of DLC on June 18th. Announced via The Chinese Room on Twitter/X, the Siren’s Rest expansion will see players return to the Beira D eleven years after its sinking.

In Still Wakes the Deep: Siren’s Rest, players will assume the role of a saturation diver by the name of Mhairi. She, along with the rest of her team, is sent down to find out what happened to the Beira D. Besides finding out why the oil rig sank, they’re also tasked with recovering the remains of the Beira D’s crew. Being a saturation diver, Mhairi will be given a set of tools, which she’ll need to navigate the underwater wreck.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of playing Still Wakes the Deep, the game takes place entirely on an oil rig in the frigid North Sea. Set in the year 1975, you assume the role of Caz, who sought employment on the Beira D to escape a criminal charge on the mainland. Just before he’s set to head back to the mainland, an Eldritch abomination attacks the Beira D, putting into motion the horrific events of Still Wakes the Deep.

Still Wakes the Deep received respectable reviews from gaming critics and sits at a 74 right now on Metacritic. The game also won a number of awards including three BAFTA awards for ‘Best New Intellectual Property’, ‘Best Performer in a Supporting Role’, and ‘Best Performer in a Leading Role’.

Still Wakes the Deep: Siren’s Rest launches on June 18th, and you will need the base game to play it. It’ll be available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC for $12.99, with a 15% launch discount on Steam.
