Upcoming puzzle game Rita merges metroidvania platforming with crosswords. Slated to release in the first quarter of 2026, the game’s developer SporkTank announces a demo releases September 2025. Rita debuted back in 2024 at the PAX Indie Showcase in Australia. According to creator Martin Stradling, he didn’t intend to make a story-rich game. However, the heartfelt intergenerational tale touched players, unexpectedly taking center stage. Combined with the novel puzzle mechanics, it’s a truly unique title that we are so excited to see.
