Gods, Death & Reapers, the newest game from developer Wolcen Studio, was recently announced at the Future Games Show during Gamescom 2025. Originally titled Project Pantheon, Gods, Death & Reapers is being billed as an ExtrAction RPG with Hack-and-Slash combat and will be free-to-play.

As shown off in the trailer, Gods, Death & Reapers takes heavy inspiration from not just Norse Mythology, but all mythologies, with every mythological Patheon destroyed. The death of all of the gods causes a pretty big hiccup, and as a result, the afterlife has also been affected. Needing to restore some semblance of order to the world, you’ll work as Death’s janitor to clean up the current mess.

Extract or Lose Everything

Having a job like that requires a lot of downtime. So, players get access to a place called The Sanctuary. The Sanctuary is where players can rest, relax, and choose their gear for their next dangerous task. Players need to choose wisely as they’ll fight against deadly enemies, deal with PvPvE clashes, and gain loot.

You’ll want to escape with your loot ASAP because if you die, you’ll lose everything your character carried. The only way to keep what you earn is to successfully make it back from the missions you’re given. In case you get loot, you don’t want, you and other players can engage in trading.

More Than Extraction And Game Features

While the game does boast PvP, Wolcen Studio plans to add a single-player campaign to Gods, Death & Reapers. PvE co-op missions will also be a thing, so you and a friend can share in the adventure and loot.

  • Gods, Death & Reapers will be built with community feedback in mind, which will drive decisions, and Wolcen plans to keep that as a strong connection in their development of the game.
