Sushi Ben Serves Up a Wholesome Feast on PC

Indie developer Big Brane Studios has launched Sushi Ben, its beloved interactive anime adventure, on PC via Steam. Originally a VR-exclusive title, the game now welcomes all players with or without a headset into the charming, manga-inspired world of Kotobuki town. This expanded PC version boasts over four hours of new content and a phenomenal English voice cast featuring talents from Chainsaw Man, Little Witch Academia, and more.

But the biggest draw might be its creative pedigree. The story is penned by Hato Moa, the visionary creator of the cult classic pigeon-dating sim, Hatoful Boyfriend. If you know, you know. And you also know to expect a narrative that is equal parts wholesome, hilarious, and utterly unpredictable.

A Tale of Community, Sushi, and Sticking It to The Man

You play as Ben, a newcomer to the quaint seaside community of Kotobuki, which is facing a modern-day villain: dastardly big-city landsharks intent on buying up the town and shutting down its heart and soul, a beloved local sushi bar.

Your mission? To unite the vibrant locals, forge unforgettable friendships, and save the day. It’s a bombastic, slice-of-life anime narrative about finding your place and fighting for what matters, complete with fully voiced cutscenes that play out in immersive 3D manga panels that pop right off the screen.

What’s a move to a new town without getting wonderfully distracted? Sushi Ben is packed with activities that bring its world to life. The PC version adds significantly to this, offering over four hours of minigames including:

  • Fishing in serene local spots
  • Archery at the town dojo
  • Ghost Hunting for spooky surprises
  • Dog Walking with adorable furry friends
    …and many more.

The PC launch introduces a complete English dub featuring a stacked cast of over 30 voice actors. Leading the charge are:

  • Laura Post (Little Witch Academia, Persona 5 Royal)
  • Ryan Colt Levy (Chainsaw Man, Bleach)
  • AJ Beckles (Dandadan, One Piece)

Their performances bring an extra layer of charm and personality to Kotobuki’s already colorful residents.

Critical Acclaim & Availability

Before its PC debut, Sushi Ben was already turning heads, earning nominations for ‘Best Immersive Game’ and ‘Best Debut’ at the prestigious Raindance Immersive festival in 2021. Founded by Kane Tyler and Brian Edward Hicks, Big Brane Studios is a fully remote international studio with major pull in the industry already.

Sushi Ben is a perfect blend of community spirit, quirky humor, and engaging gameplay—a must-play for fans of narrative adventures, anime, and anyone who’s ever wanted to tell a greedy landlord to take a hike.

It is available now on PC via Steam, at a 20% discount. It normally retails for $11.99. You can also get the game/OST bundle for $12.84.
