Positive Impact Games is proud to announce that its first game, The Regreening, is in development for PC. Opened back in 2024, Positive Impact Games is a women-led indie development studio. The six-member crew is made up of gaming industry veterans who have worked on games such as Path of Exile, Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord, and June’s Journey.

Billed as a cozy soilpunk simulation game, your goal in The Regreening is to heal a barren world by planting seeds in the hopes that it becomes a lush paradise. You won’t just be planting seeds, though, as you’ll also engage in creating animal habitats, as well as crafting decorations from junk.

Save The World By Healing It

In The Regreening, players will take on the role of Viri as they try and bring both flora and fauna back to their dying world. As Viri, you’ll need to revive biomes, cultivate seeds, and repair relationships with folkloric animal friends. If this seems daunting, there’s no need to worry, as Viri will have help in the form of magic.

The trailer doesn’t specify what led to the apocalyptic scenario that Viri has found herself in, but luckily, it didn’t seem to doom the planet entirely. Life did seem to come to a standstill, though, as abandoned heavy machinery and destroyed roads are seen in the trailer.

The Regreening is all about the idea of one person being able to make a difference, and make a difference Viri shall. Viri will travel to different unlockable biomes to help bring said biomes back. As she does so, she’ll complete quests, befriend NPCs, build new habitats for animals, and craft recipes, all while doing so. Viri’s ultimate task is to heal the bond between humans and nature, while also trying to bring harmony back into the natural world.

The Regreening Features

Key features for The Regreening include:

• Restore: Clean, manage, and unlock entire biomes by taking care of the different environments. This also includes improving soil ties by growing plants, creating animal habitats, and repairing the world’s ecosystem.
  
• Recycle: Viri can build her very own hub for recycling and upcycling, where she can turn trash into treasure. Completing NPC quests will earn her crafting recipes to help give Viri buffs and decorations for her home.
  
• Relax: Viri’s quest won’t be timed, which means she can bring back the world at her own pace.

The Regreening is in development for PC and can be wishlisted now via Steam.
