Obsidian Moon Gets a Demo For Steam Detective Fest

Lost Cabinet Games has released a demo for their upcoming detective game, Obsidian Moon, for the Steam Detective Fest. The demo itself is actually a fully playable case to show off the amount of freedom you’ll have in-game when solving a case. You can complete the demo in as little as 20 minutes or take 45+ minutes to complete it, depending on your approach. It also offers over 30+ investigative solutions, all based on your choices.

Solve Ritualistic Murders In Obsidian Moon

In Obsidian Moon, you’ll take control of Carter, a once-respected homicide detective who has fallen on hard times. Haunted by grief and slowly losing his sanity, Carter will try to solve a string of interconnected ritualistic murders. Instead of going out and searching for clues and talking with suspects, you’ll instead do all of that in the comfort of Carter’s office.

Obsidian Moon is a text-based game where all the detective work is via a case board located on Carter’s desk. How you review the clues, question and examine suspects/witnesses, and how wisely you use police resources, can all influence how Carter solves the case.

Text-Based Detective Action

Some of the features of Obsidian Moon include:

  • 10 murder cases that are connected to an ever more sinister plot.
  • Optional side cases where you can learn more about the main characters.
  • Multiple ways to investigate, including spying on suspects, checking for leads, checking criminal records, or you can extract a confession with your revolver.
  • How you conduct yourself during a case counts. You can either build cases very methodically or throw caution to the wind, use questionable methods, and risk Carter’s sanity.

Obsidian Moon release date is sometime in 2026 and can be added to your Steam wishlist now.
