Antiques and Tarot are an expensive business. Publisher and developer Kiwick Studios has announced a new gothic roguelike game, Fortune Seller, where in order to escape crippling debt and afford sky-high rent, players must sell antiques to their customers, read the cards of fate, and earn enough gold to keep up with rent inflation every single day.
You Hold the Cards
In order to keep the shop afloat, players will use spells and Tarot readings, manage and manipulate a Tetris-like inventory, and send customers home with full suitcases of antique treasures. Swap out your own inventory to keep items fresh and cater to the clientele to reach rent quotas before end-of-day. With a limited number of slots per suitcase, players must make every spot count, perfectly situating each item to earn as much gold as possible; the more you can fit, the better the sale!
Further, Tarot cards are used to stack player’s own inventory and earn special skills that will aid in making rent. Each item sold contains a unique property and is tailored to their own minor Arcana from the deck. Players can also use spell cards to alter the power of item, effects of the Tarot, and alter moon cycles to enhance the item’s value and properties.
