Gourdlets Coming to an Island Near You

Have you ever just wanted to play one of those cozy phone games endlessly? Without the worry of energy or currency limiting your experience? Then you might want to try the cozy sandbox city sim called Gourdlets by Preethi Vaidyanathan, aka AuntyGames, and publisher Future Friends Games.

Just Silly Little Guys With No Concept of Capitalism

Gourdlets is an easy-going game where you build a town for cute little veggie people, called the Gourdlets. You can make it as small or as big as you like, as complex or as simple as you desire. The Gourdlets really don’t care, as they’re just silly little guys. They will happily interact with whatever you give them, and give you flowers as they do. Flowers are the only technical in-game currency. You use them to call the parcel train to get more, unique objects for your town.

There’re no in-game purchases, no pressure or ads to buy things to upgrade your gaming experience. There is no win or lose conditions, nothing to level or keep track of. You can even just let it idle in a corner of your screen and enjoy the relaxing music as you watch the Gourdlets go about their little lives. They will make themselves perfectly at home, fishing, reading, farming, snoozing – whatever happens to be around for them to do.

After many months of development, Gourdlets is set to release on August 15th on PC. However, you can still try out the game demo for free now on Steam. The base game is fully functional and well-polished, but there are many objects that you will only be able to unlock by buying the game on its full release.
