Return to the Savage Planet for Double the Fun!

The Savage Planet is back and better than ever in this sequel to Journey to the Savage Planet. Developed by Raccoon Logic Studios nee Typhoon Studios, Revenge of the Savage Planet sees you return to your newly developed colony with a friend or two. The game supports online co-op, crossplay, split screens – however you want to share the experience.

Much like the first game, Revenge of the Savage Planet is an action-adventure exploration game with 3D platforming, rich with dark humor. The gorgeous and playful graphics are just the same as you remembered, now in 3rd-person rather than first. There are, however, four planets for you to explore, more tools, more creatures to categorize and capture, and a customizable base. It’s up to you to find your way out of this solar system and back on the path home.

Why the Different Devs?

Raccoon Logic Studios is an independent game development studio founded in 2021 Montréal, Québec, Canada. If that sounds strange to any of you, welcome aboard. Journey to the Savage Planet was released January 28th of 2021 and was a rousing success, so what on earth happened to the Typhoon Studios?

Well, Typhoon Studios was acquired by Google around 2019 and was later merged with Stadia Games & Entertainment. However, when the global pandemic hit the company was shut down to avoid taking too many losses. Most of the development team in Raccoon Logic Studios were actually previously of Typhoon Studios. You can really tell, given that the style and quality of their games hasn’t changed. Luckily, they were able to retain their creative rights to the Savage Planet franchise. Elsewise, we might have never seen a sequel in the first place.

Revenge of the Savage Planet’s release was revealed at the Opening Night Live and the Xbox showcase at Gamescom. While a specific date hasn’t been set, we know that it will be coming out in Q1 of next year. So, pick up your space suit from the drycleaners and pick out your cryosleep tunes, ‘cause we have half a year before we come in for a landing.
