Finnish game studio Social First has announced the development of its inaugural title, Nexus Station. It is a cross-platform, free-to-play social sandbox MMO that draws on the team’s eight years of experience in developing and managing communities for similar titles. These veterans have worked on Pixel Worlds, Habbo Hotel, RuneScape, and Movie Star Planet among others. Social First promises to deliver an innovative experience that prioritizes social connectivity, paving the way for games to serve as true social platforms.
“Different games are rapidly becoming essential social spaces for millions, where people can meet new friends and spend time with others, regardless of physical distance,” says CEO Kim Soares. “Nexus Station is being intentionally designed to function as both a social platform and a game, enabling players from around the globe to connect, share their creativity, and build lasting friendships.”

Map Maker on Main
In Nexus Station, players will have the ability to create their own worlds. There, they can develop content for various competitive and cooperative features to share with the wider community. Aside from the core map making elements, the game includes crafting, trading, and collaboration within clans. Additionally, Social First plans to introduce an official secondary marketplace, allowing players to trade in-game items for real money.
The game will enter Early Access on mobile later this year, with plans for PC access to follow. Social First has been actively engaging its community, sharing behind-the-scenes content and teasers about the game. They have released a gameplay trailer, along with a sign-up page for players interested in receiving the latest news and updates as development progresses.
With Nexus Station, Social First aims to create a vibrant community where players can explore, engage, and express themselves creatively. The studio hopes to offer a unique experience for players looking for meaningful connections online. They are eager to share more updates, and welcome all of you to join them on this exciting journey!
