Casting Whispers, the very first game from solo developer Lantern Bay, now has a playable demo for Steam Next Fest. Launching on October 22, Casting Whispers is a first-person psychological horror game where sound is the key to survival.
Set in America in the 1960s, an old and unexplained force has taken over your apartment block and stalks you, necessitating the need to make as little sound as possible. If that wasn’t bad enough, you also need to find your missing mentor. As you explore the world of Casting Whispers, you’ll uncover a terrible secret and confront the evil that took over your home.
You’ll Need to be Very, Very Quiet in Casting Whispers
In Casting Shadows, players will assume the role of Victoria, who is studying Extra-Sensory Perception(ESP)with her mentor Henry. To find Henry, Victoria will need to shut her eyes, steady her breath, and brave the dark in this unique Lovecraftian horror game.
As Victoria, sound will either be your greatest tool or your greatest weakness, as every sound could help you lead Victoria closer to survival, or to her doom.
Paranormal Small-Town America

Taking place in the fictional town of Corburgh, Connecticut, in the 1960s, Corburgh is a dying industrial city haunted by both urban legends and grief. Corburgh has always been home to Victoria, but something has gone wrong one night and now Henry is missing, and something from his apartment is calling for Victoria.
As Victoria explores her apartment block, you can use the game’s unique sound mechanic to eavesdrop on conversations, locate secret mechanisms, and hear what cannot be seen. You’ll need to use it wisely, though, as every discovery will lead Victoria closer to the truth while also leading her closer to the dark as well.
