There are many stories about heroic “last stands,” and in the roguelike hack-and-slash title The Gate Must Stand, you’ll get to experience one of them. In the Steam title by Senmu Studio, Gamersky Games, and Yogscast Games, you’ll play as a warrior who is one of the last hopes to hold the city of Belrak from the invading forces that surround it. Pick whatever hero you want, then get to work finding others to help you, building up your powers and abilities, fortifying the city, and killing everything that tries to lay the city low.

Given that this is a roguelike title, every run will be different, and with so many options to choose from, including four main heroes to start with, almost 150 skills to get, 13 bosses, multiple maps, and more, there’s a lot of nuance that can be explored and enjoyed as you try to hold the line.
