Certain genres of video games have popped up over the last decade that speak to certain types of fans. One of the most obvious is the asymmetrical horror games that put one person in the role of a killer, while the other players have to survive their onslaught and escape. On Kickstarter, a new entry in that genre is attempting to be made via the title Last Summer.

Made by Silent Lamb Studio, the team is seeking an ambitious 153K funding goal, and is aiming to do it within a month’s time.

The game itself puts the majority of players in the role of camp counselors who encounter a notorious killer tied to the camp’s history. It’s familiar territory, but there is nuance and fun to be had here. For example, while many other games in this genre do a 1v4 approach, Last Summer aims to do 1v7, dependent on player feedback, of course. There will also be numerous ways for the counselors to survive, and for the killer to get more powerful throughout the match.

Like with any Kickstarter, there are plenty of rewards to choose from, including certain higher-tier perks that will allow you to work with the team to put your personal touches on certain characters, skins, and so on.
