Certain video games, regardless of whether they’re indie or AAA, require a certain amount of time to “work things out” before dropping everything on players. The team at Keen Games has been working hard on Enshrouded since 2023. The game puts you in a vast world that’s been corrupted by a fog that surrounds everything. As a Flameborn, you’ll travel around, survive with whatever you can find, build, or take, and then attempt to bring the kingdom back to what it once was. Plus, you don’t have to play alone, as you can work alongside 15 other players to help save the realm together!

Yesterday, the team revealed that the game would drop in full on Steam and PS5 on October 15th, even releasing a special trailer for the announcement:

In a press release, the team also documented how far the game has come since its time on Steam Early Access:

“Initially revealed back on May 3, 2023, Enshrouded has undergone incredible development and systemic updates since its EA launch in January 2024. Since then, EIGHT major content updates have been released, added three new biomes and their accompanying monsters to the game, along with new weapons, armors, creatures, base materials, decorations, and much, much more. Not satisfied with only adding new biomes or monsters, Keen Games made the choice to add dynamic water into the game, no mean feat for a voxel-based adventure game.”

Now, while the October 15th release date for PC and PS5 has been announced, the Xbox version is still in development and will be released at a later time.
