Zombie RPG Persist Online Starts Its Next Playtest!

The dead walk! CipSoft, acclaimed developers of the 1997 blockbuster MMORPG Tibia, have announced a new playtest in the works for their actionsurvival horror MMORPG Persist Online starting on June 29th. Based on feedback from the last playtest, the Germany-based game devs reworked several game mechanics, chief among them character progression. The twenty-person team has laid it all out in three separate blog posts which you can read for yourself below:

Progression Overhaul (Part 1): This first post talks about gear… namely how it now ties to your character level rather than skills. That and a few changes to skills and safehouses.

Progression Overhaul (Part 2): New Zeds are coming… and they’re nasty! This one details Elite enemies, how enemies spawn, and a smorgasbord of new consumables that’ll improve mechanics like safehouse building and gear improvement.

Faction Quests: It’s lonely out there in the Zombie Apocalypse. This post explains mission requirements, types of quests, and, most importantly, rewards.

Not enough for ya? Crafting and upgrading items now take a lot less time and resources. Don’t get too comfortable, however–Elite Mobs are now far nastier. Elites not only emerge with mutated stats but can also come packing all sorts of elemental attacks including acid, flame, and many more.

Being in a Pre-Alpha stage, Persist Online can only be wishlisted on Steam for now. Signing up for the upcoming playtest is easy, though. SIGN UP HERE and keep your eyes peeled for an email! Still hungry for more? Check out their official Discord Forewarned is forearmed, after all!
