One of the beautiful things about MMORPGs is that you can keep certain things going for a long time…so long as your players are invested in it, and you have players who are still playing your title. Old School RuneScape was an attempt by Jagex to bring back the classic MMO that players loved, and they’ve been working hard to keep the mindset of what was before with each update they do. To that end, Jagex revealed today that the newest content, “Blood Moon Rises,” will bring an end to a storyline literally 20 years in the making, and it’s out right now for you to enjoy:

“A late-game Grandmaster Quest, the highest difficulty tier of quest in Old School RuneScape, The Blood Moon Rises sees players enter the dark, foreboding land of Vampyrium for the very first time to overthrow its vampyric ruler, Lord Lowerniel Draken…”

As for what you’ll actually get to do in “The Blood Moon Rises,” the team broke that down in the press release:

“In addition to the new region of Vampyrium for players to explore, it also features a range of new deadly creatures to overcome, a new range of skilling activities and a new solo boss encounter with The Maggot King. Brand new weaponry will be available for those courageous enough to complete the quest, while those who also rout the King of the Ur- Maggots will receive the Crimson Kisten.”

Now, there is a catch to this, as you will have to complete certain past quests to be able to unlock this one. However, many of you may have already done them; thus, you’ll be fine.
