Guns of Eschaton Announced and Is Based on Classic Art Director’s Universe!

A true wonder about video games is that they can pop up in any way imaginable and be based on things that you might not realize were things beforehand. Yesterday, the teams at 4Divinity and Eschatology Entertainment revealed a “Soulslike shooter” title called Guns of Eschaton. The twist is that the game has deep ties to legendary art director Viktor Antonov, as it’s set within the “Dying West” Universe that he created. So, what will the game be like? We’ll let the press release break it down for you:

“Set in nineteenth-century America, Guns of Eschaton draws upon iconic historical figures and mythic archetypes of the Old West, reimagined within a fantastical apocalyptic world, where every enemy encounter means risking death.

Players will learn to tackle enemy encounters through the use of specialized ammunition, well-timed parries, precise dashes, and the Codex, which reveals enemy weaknesses through its Sequence Points system. Together, these core mechanics form the foundation of the game’s strategic combat. Just remember: Every. Shot. Counts.”

So, yeah, there’s a lot going on here, and that’s the point. You’ll need to be mindful of your ammo reserves, while also trying to do the most damage to every foe you come across, especially the ones that “aren’t your typical folk.” Thankfully, the game wants you to be the gunslinger you feel can conquer the West. As such, you’ll swap out items and create builds until you find the one that will help you survive without issue.

Or, if you think it’s “dangerous to go in alone,” you can bring in a “partner” and have some fun in co-op!

No release date for Guns of Eschaton has been announced; however, it will drop on Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox.
