Who hasn’t wanted to make some music-style magic in their lives at some point? Video games have often been an outlet for those kinds of people, and Steam Early Access is about to get a new rhythm game where you’re tasked with making your own recording studio! The title is called OFFBEAT, and it’s made by Whetstone Games and Pantaloon. We got the chance to play the demo during Steam Next Fest in June and found it was music to our ears.
Just how wacky will this music-themed game be when it arrives on July 22nd? How about looking at a new music video from “OFFBEAT Radio” to see how things go?
As with other Steam Early Access titles, your input will help shape the game going forward. The teams broke down in a press release what you can expect from the early version:
“The Early Access launch of OFFBEAT will feature 7 different musical objects spread across two different chapters with more instruments, chapters, and features to be added throughout the Early Access period and culminating in the 1.0 launch in early 2027. Like in the demo, the early access launch will of course also feature the export function, allowing players to have WAV files of their tracks locally saved on their PCs. Players own the rights to the music they create!”
Doesn’t that sound like fun? You can make music and then help the team so that you can make even better music down the line! If you’re on the fence about it, OFFBEAT‘s demo is still available right now.
