How will the world end? That is a question that MANY people have been asking lately, and in Dystopicon, the team at Palitroque is putting a satirical spin on it. In their dystopian title, you’ll be in a world where robots are replacing humans in the workplace, which sounds awfully familiar, and the only way for you to survive is to…watch TV. Yes, really. The game will release on Steam on July 27th, and a special trailer has dropped to welcome the upcoming release:
Dystopicon might seem like a simple simulator to you, but it’s actually quite robust, as the game’s synopsis reveals:
“The game is set in a retro futuristic world where robots replaced humans at work. You are a Class-2 citizen who gets a new home from the government and assigned to do a simple job: watch TV to earn your salary, and with it, buy the services you
find convenient to survive and stay entertained. Would you choose to be a loyal citizen or a rebel against the system as you progress in different scenarios uncovering more about how the world works? Keep in mind that your actions will have consequences, and they will lead you to 14 possible endings.”
Between the main mode and a challenge mode, you’ll find that there are plenty of ways to try and survive in this grim version of the future. So stay tuned, and when July 27th arrives…don’t change that channel…
