Nostalgia comes in many forms, and it can inspire or drive people to create certain things to make them feel nostalgia for what came before. For example, Spanish solo dev Carlos Azuga wanted to make a game that felt like the 1980s slasher films that haunted many when they came out. Thus, he teamed up with JanduSoft to make the upcoming Yellowcreek Stories – The Cabin Watcher. The game will arrive on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on August 6th, so you won’t have to wait too long to see the horror-filled darkness descend on your system.

But what puts you in the crosshairs of this darkness? As with most 80s-style stories, it starts out in simplicity before turning into a fight for survival:

“You are a writer searching for inspiration. A storm. A remote mountain cabin. A few quiet days away from everything… until
one loud knock shatters the silence. You look through the window and see him. A motionless figure standing in the rain.
His face is hidden behind a mask, a massive machete in his hand, and you instantly know one thing: He’s come for you.”
