New Trailer Released for The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu

It’s always great to see games find their audience through yearly fests. These events are some of the most important opportunities for indie devs to get their projects out into the world. The co-op horror game The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu by ACE Team and NACON, a fruit of Steam Next Fest, has released a new trailer in anticipation of its July 15th, 2026, release date.

The game positions the players as explorers on the search for treasure within the thicket of a hostile jungle:

“Before each expedition, players gather aboard the galleon to choose a contract and divide up weapons and equipment. Once they arrive on the continent, the explorers set out in search of treasures and resources to bring back to the galleon’s captain.”

Sounds simply, right? Well, maybe when you’re still in the planning stage.

“As they venture deeper into the jungle, the adventurers must face numerous monstrosities, but the greatest threat will be their own minds… Visual and auditory illusions disorient the adventurers, potentially causing accidental sabotage that could jeopardize the mission. Even death offers no respite: companions who have fallen in battle may return in a corrupted form and turn against their allies.”

The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu emphasizes horror over action, encouraging players to take caution with every step:

“[T]he explorers are inexperienced, equipped with extremely limited ammunition and breakable gear. Faced with the dangers and monstrous entities of the cursed jungle, the chances of survival are slim for adventurers who set out to slay every creature that stands in their way.”

The game will be available for Play Station 5, XBox Series X|S, and PC with full crossplay. Watch the full trailer for more details:
