Silent Whispers: Rising from the Ashes

Welcome to the City of Fading Light.

Where all is as it seems and no questions need be asked, as there is nothing to fear. The city is a haven, and as long as you follow the rules and stay within its walls, all will be well.

An Introduction to the City:

Since its announcement in April of this year, Silent Whispers has certainly caused a stir within the otome community. With their breathtaking graphics, stirring storylines, and a bit of drama with another community that definitely caused quite the uproar.

We aren’t here to discuss the drama, though; what we are here to talk about is the resurgence in the community that Silent Whispers has been, rightfully, receiving. After all of the hard work that has been going into their game. Archosaur is hoping for a release that gives each player the same experience, no matter if they’re on mobile or PC. Developers shared that they’ve already put in extensive work to make sure that each player has the same experience in their game, and they want to keep it that way.

Which comes as a relief, especially given the sheer size of what is already seeming to be a massive program. Promising an open-world playing system guiding the player through the City of Fading Light, players can experience each piece of what they have to offer.

Not only that, based on previous interviews, but it’s said that the story will change based on decisions made by the players. Each choice made. Each direction taken. That can alter the very story that is created, and that in itself makes the tale that much more intriguing.

Now for what you’ve all truly been waiting for, the love interests. The ones that move the story, that guide MC from beginning to end, and that draw the intrigue to most otome games before even the rest of the story can.

Meet the Boys:

Alarik: Physically imposing and intense guy with fire powers, boasting a pair of giant wings. Rumors also indicate he may be phoenix-based, which leans heavily into the time loop storyline the developers are sharing. Fun fact- he’s also afraid of the dark, which is interesting given his color palette throughout the trailer.

Theron: Holds a physical magnetism about him that is hard to ignore. With piercing gold/green eyes and a darkness that adds to the allure, it’s no wonder he’s become a quick fan favorite. He’s our resident werewolf who has more secrets than even he realizes.

Valen: The typecast ‘sensitive’ type, but all isn’t as it seems with him. With soft features, enhanced by his own color palette of pinks and blues, it’s hard not to be drawn to him. His distant eyes and harsh ice powers, though taut a warning that almost immediately wakes you up when you see him.

Building a Community:

Archosaur has seen an uptick in a 72-hour timeframe, with pre-registrations within the community going from a little over 1 million to nearly 3 million during that time. The same could be said for their Discord server, which has also seen its own spike in members. Starting at around seven thousand members, it more than doubled in that time to 16,000, unlike anything ever truly seen in that short of a timeframe.

All anyone has to do, though, is talk to any member of the Discord server or look into the amount of work the developers have put into its creation to understand why.

I’ve been in different communities before, but this by far has been the most welcoming and genuine community I have joined. For a game that hasn’t come out yet, you’d be astonished as to how active everyone is on the Discord server. Everyone’s been friendly; there are all sorts of conversations and jokes going around, and no one’s gonna be left out. We’re doing our best to keep the community safe and happy for everyone!- @Theronatemyhomework

Even when I signed up, I could see the dedication Archosaur had to its audience. The moment you sign in, you’re guided to the website with all the current information on Silent Whispers; from there, you’re invited to fill out a form asking your opinion of what you’ve seen so far. From the graphics to the voices, and everything in between, they make sure that the players’ voices are heard. It’s a breath of fresh air to have some semblance of understanding from a developer even as they’re actively working on multiple games.

A Look from the Inside-Gameplay Tech Demo:

I think the video above speaks well enough for itself, but I’ll say it again. I’m eager to see where this game will go. Archosaur has certainly shown not only dedication to its players, but is already creating a loyal fan base that is hard to ignore. With growing numbers by the day, here’s hoping that by release, they will continue to receive the attention they so rightly deserve.

Keep an eye out for upcoming announcements as the developers head to BiliBili World in Shanghai the weekend of July 10-12 for, hopefully, some upcoming Silent Whispers announcements.

You can pre-register for some extra rewards at game release on the Silent Whispers website and continue to follow for updates on all their socials: X, Discord, Instagram, YouTube
