Let’s talk about the video games of our youth, shall we? There were certain titles that absolutely “defined us” in many forms, and one such sports title didn’t have to do with John Madden or others of his ilk. No, the sports game that MANY young kids played was called Backyard Baseball. It was so popular that it spawned a whole franchise that branched off into other sports. It featured fun visuals, music, a great, diverse roster of kids and teens to play as, and more!

Today, Mega Cat Studios and Playground Productions officially launched the reboot of Backyard Baseball on Steam! The team brought back much of what you loved about the PC originals, and then added new modes, online play, and 3D graphics, much like you see in the cinematic trailer below:

Some of the features in the reboot include:

• Compete in exciting new game modes, including the reimagined batting practice mode Backyard Bash and the all-new Backyard Derby
• Play solo or challenge friends in couch co-op
• Explore 11 remastered stadiums, full of interactables and playable during the day and at night!
• Choose from multiple difficulty levels, from New Kid to Playground Pro, making Backyard Baseball one of the most accessible sports games on the market
• Introducing Wiggle Ball, a brand-new game mode that adds a wild spin to every at-bat
• Choose from 30+ playable characters, including the GOAT himself, Pablo Sanchez 
• Create custom characters and design bats through an expanded customization system 
• Unlock new content throughout gameplay, including achievements, stadiums, and new playable characters 

The best part? If you think $40 is a bit too much to pay for the reboot, the original game from 1997 was released earlier this year on Steam, and it’s only $10.
