Growing up (and admittedly still today), I loved the idea of having a unicorn for a friend. Despite getting my magical horse fix from clunky DVD menu dress-up games, I think kid-me would’ve enjoyed this upcoming game. From a combined effort by publisher Mindscape, developer Aesir Interactive, and the children’s entertainment company Spin Master comes the fantasy adventure children’s game Unicorn Academy: Island of Magic.
Based on the TV series of the same name, Unicorn Academy is the perfect game for the young, soon-to-be unicorn friend:
“Join the Unicorn Academy as a first-year student in this enchanting adventure set on Unicorn Island. Wield magic, bond with your unicorn, and team up with your favourite heroes from the TV show [to] defeat Ravenzella’s evil plot to corrupt and control of Unicorn Island.”
The game’s key features allow the player to dive head-first into the magical world of Unicorn Island:
- Play with and as your favorite heroes- Switch between your own character or one of the Sapphires and experience the different powers the unicorn has!
- Wield unicorn magic- Become a master in elemental magic and use it to solve puzzles!
- Dress up- Dress up your very own character, and style your unicorn to your liking!
- Look after your unicorn- Groom, play, and race with your unicorn to strengthen your bond!
- Stop Ravenzella- Use your magic, friends, and wits to stop Ravenzella from taking control of Unicorn Island!
Unicorn Academy: Island of Magic will be available for PlayStation 4/5, the Nintendo Switch, Steam, and the XBox Series X|S. Check out the teaser trailer below:
