Kickstarter has been an incredible platform to help bring projects to life. One such project has gone live on KS today, and its success is already evident. Children of Time: The Roleplaying Game was made by Rowan, Rook and Decard, who have made several tabletop RPGs already, and their latest one has already reached its funding goal in less than a day! That’s pretty impressive, considering they were asking for over $53,000!
As noted on their Kickstarter page:
“Children of Time: The Roleplaying Game is a tabletop roleplaying game based on Adrian Tchaikovsky’s award winning science fiction novels, where societies embark on epic, era-spanning journeys of growth, endurance, and self-discovery.
You become the authors of this grand tale. Construct an ark ship of your own and embark on an uncharted exodus towards a planet of your own making, all while you uplift and nurture animals of your own choosing. Or retell the epic saga of the ark ship Gilgamesh and the evolution of the Portiid spiders on Kern’s World. The choice is yours.”
Arguably the best part is that if you’re not really a TTRPG player, or you want to try things out before you pledge to the campaign, they have a beta test you can download here, including a YouTube video to help things out with your run:
The entire game project is being funded via this campaign. Since it’s already at its funding goal and beyond, and you have four weeks to join still, it’s going to get quite a bit over its goal. As such, if you’re interested in it, you can pledge without worry of things not getting funded.
Plus, since it’s Kickstarter, all manner of rewards will be available to you, depending on what you can afford. Plenty of details await you on the KS page about the project. Check it out, see what it has to offer, and if you’re game…pledge!
