One of the worst parts of social deduction games is when you’re bad at them. Getting voted or sniffed out early is not a fun experience. And if you’re bad at lying, you spend most of your time as a ghost, hoping one of your friends wins in your stead. However, not all games leave player to such a dull afterlife. RA Tabletop has announced a new co-op social deduction card game The Dungeon Club, available on Steam.
“Set inside a cozy medieval tavern, The Dungeon Club challenges players to deceive, accuse, and outwit one another through a series of tense bluffing encounters. Every accusation can trigger a duel using powerful Treachery Cards, while failed bluffs force players to confront the unpredictable Curse Box, where dragons, hydras, magical disasters, and other dangers await.”
However, unlike other games in the same genre, eliminated players don’t just sit around and wait for others to win:
“Ghost players gain access to unique Underworld Cards, allowing them to haunt surviving opponents, disrupt their turns, battle rival ghosts, and harvest souls in pursuit of victory.”
Key features of the game include:
- “Death Is Only the Beginning: Return as a ghost after elimination, unlock Underworld Cards, sabotage surviving players, battle rival ghosts, and continue competing for victory.
- Bluff, Accuse, and Outsmart Your Friends: Every turn is a battle of deception as players decide whether to tell the truth or risk everything with a convincing bluff.
- Master Treachery Cards: Turn confrontations in your favor by attacking opponents or defending yourself with powerful Treachery Cards that can completely change the outcome of a duel.
- Face the Curse Box: Failed bluffs and false accusations unleash unpredictable consequences, from monstrous creatures to magical catastrophes that can instantly reshape the match.
- Play With Friends or Smart Bots: Jump into online multiplayer matches or sharpen your bluffing skills against challenging AI opponents in endlessly replayable games.”
