New Soccer Side-Scroller kicks its way onto Steam this November.

Depending on who you ask, chances are many of us have walked to school. Those journeys from house to school were like a video game quest in themselves. So, it was only a matter of time until someone made a game out of that journey. Solo game developer nospacelost in partnership with Shoreline Games have come together to release Kick, a cozy 2D side scroller.

Debuting at the Convergence Showcase, the game offers players the chance to race through scenic Japanese-inspired landscapes. Each with its own obstacles to avoid and soccer-ball challenges to master. From bustling streets and scenic beaches to shaded underpasses and sprawling parks, the story will see players practicing their skills in the park, running to catch the train, and taking well-trodden shortcuts to shave much-needed seconds off their travel time, all in hopes of beating the dreaded school bell.

Key Features

  • Kick, jump, ‘n’ run through 23 levels, each with its own
    hazards and opportunities.
  • Beat the timer in select timed levels set to challenge your skills, or disable timers for a more laid-back experience.
  • Collect coins to unlock skins for your ball and flags, which can be displayed in-game.
  • Use your ball skills to complete in-game challenges

Kick has always been about those small, overlooked moments of childhood,” said nospacelost. “The response to the game and demo has meant so much to me, and I’m incredibly excited to keep building towards November and finally let players experience The Kid’s full journey.”

Kick will launch on Steam this November with a release date announced in the months ahead. Be sure to wishlist this game on Steam and follow nospacelost and Shoreline Games for more updates.
