What does it mean for a convention to be successful? It depends on who’s running it, of course, but more often than not, it has to do with record attendance and possibly having as many exhibitors as possible. After all, many pay to get into events like Gamescom 2026. To that end, the gaming entity revealed in a press release today that for the first time ever…all of their exhibitor spaces were sold out!
Just as important, it wasn’t “just anyone” buying these spaces, as major developers and publishers will be there, including Konami, Tencent Games, Embark Studios, Level Infinite, Giants, Aerosoft, Xbox, Nintendo, EA, Ubisoft, and Capcom. That’s a stacked lineup. As you can imagine, those in charge of the event are astounded by this and are already prepping to have this for the 2027 show:
“After new records were already established in the previous year, the available exhibition area of gamescom is completely booked up this year for the first time. The world’s largest event for computer and video games thus underlines its importance as the central platform of the games industry and as the meeting point for millions of fans worldwide — on location in Cologne and digitally.
In order to access additional growth potential in the future, game – The German Games Industry Association and Koelnmesse are already working on concepts for an expansion as of 2027. The goal is to meet the increasing demand and to improve the visitor experience in the process.”
The show will have plenty to offer, including special keynotes, developer awards, the “Opening Night Live” event that’ll showcase new trailers and game announcements, the first European event for Games Done Quick, and more! The event starts with Opening Night Live on August 25th, and the full event goes from the 26th to the 30th. Don’t miss out!
