Have you noticed that there’s been a LOT of roguelike and roguelite titles popping up to “liven up” otherwise basic things? We saw what it did to card games like Poker, and now, we have a new game announced from the team at Fellswell in the form of Loopquarium. Yes. Really. This is an action roguelite set within an aquarium. Didn’t have that on our bingo cards for the year! For a deep dive, heh, into what the game is like, check out the synopsis and announcement trailer below:
“Loopquarium is an aquarium roguelite where you assemble a school of fish with unique abilities to repel invading apex predators. Start with a group of guppies, grow your population, and balance predator and prey to discover insane combos every run.
Predators hunt, gather resources, and defend the tank. Prey keep the ecosystem thriving with unique abilities of their own. Keep the aquarium in harmony through the day, because when light fades, unexpected threats rise and turn things upside down.”
…yeah, that works pretty well. It’s a little fishy, but aren’t we all? Features for the game include:
- Unlock 60 fish types, 60 items and 14 bosses. All with unique behavior and abilities.
- Endlessly Replayability: Strategize and build new combos every run
- Meta-progression: Become stronger as you unlock permanent upgrades and pets across runs
- Play at Any Pace: Difficulty ranges from combat-free Zen to
relentless Boss Rush - Cozy Tank to Call Your Own: Catch rare fish variants to be kept
in the peaceful Virtual Tank mode
If you’re impressed by its depths, then wishlist the game on Steam!
