When Kickstarters do well, it gives hope to others who want to do their own campaigns. Even if they don’t match the success of certain big campaigns, it can give them the push to try new things and see what happens. For the team at Rowan, Rook, and Decard, they launched the KS campaign for their Children Of Time: Roleplaying Game title last week, and instantly crushed their funding goal. Now, a week later, they’ve provided an update as to what comes next for the tabletop title, including how they’ve raised almost 120K in that period, which is over DOUBLE what they were asking for at launch.

As is the Kickstarter way, when you hit your goal in record time, you do stretch goals to highlight what people can fund with new money coming in. To that end, here are the stretch goals the team unlocked:

• A new short story called ‘The Scent of Distance’, written by Adrian Tchaikovsky himself, that’ll be added to the Children of Time RPG Quickstart. It features a dangerous investigation into the fate of a Pangolin religious poet, whose most recent work threatens to upend everything Pangolin society knows about their place in the universe.
• A content pack focusing on ‘Stowaways’ will be added to the Your Ship book, featuring a new crisis, cohort and rules for the ark ship discovering a failing planet home to uplifted creatures – and the process by which those creatures become ark crew.

As the image makes clear, they’re about to hit the last of their initial stretch goals. However, the team made it clear that more stretch goals will be announced soon. Given that they have a bit under 20 days left to go, that’s wise.
