One of the biggest achievements for an indie dev is to reach player count numbers in the quadruple+ digits. It’s evidence that all the hard work paid off, and that a sizeable chunk of people love your game. After merely four days, Flyaway Games‘s action roguelike Ascend to ZERO has surpassed 100,000 players.

The team discussed what makes this game unique in a press release:

“Since launch, players have embraced Ascend to ZERO’s unique approach to roguelike combat, freezing time to reposition, plan attacks, and unleash devastating combos before the clock resumes. Across each run, players experiment with six distinct avatars, powerful Tech Chips, weapons, gadgets, and abilities to create wildly different builds while battling through the ruins of a fallen technological civilization.”

They were also keen to discuss the ongoing launch event:

“[XBOX] players unlock rewards simply by playing, while Steam players can claim the same exclusive items through Twitch Drops by watching participating streams through July 26.”
