Roguelikes are undoubtedly one of the most popular and populous genres in the gaming space right now. Many developers and publishers try to make these titles so that they can grab onto the fanbase that adores them, and others try to put their own spin on things. Case in point, developer Gimni Games, alongside publisher Isolated Games, is getting ready to drop its “cozy roguelike” title Book & Horn sometime in the future on Steam. But today, they decided to release the demo for it.
Here’s the game’s synopsis:
“In Book & Horn, players must brew powerful potions to defend their cauldron from escalating waves of enemies while actively gathering raw materials in real-time. Every run is unique, featuring a deep crafting system where players unlock different potions, each requiring a specific combination of ingredients, alongside dynamic passive abilities in the form of scrolls and power-ups.”

The demo will have the game’s full “first stage,” plus a “Nightmare Phase” for you to enjoy. Plus, there will be a global leaderboard to show you how well your run compares to others. If this sounds up your alley, give it a try!
