“Procedurally generated maps built from diverse tilesets ensure no two mission runs are ever the same, while a fully reactive gore system makes every encounter feel visceral and distinct. Dynamic limb and head dismemberment, body deformation, multilayered damage systems and enemies whose clothes and flesh burn away when set on fire combine to make neutralising the infected as satisfying as it is brutal.

The infected themselves come in multiple forms. Common enemies and fallen soldiers form the bulk of each wave, but squads will also contend with Zogs, zombie dogs that close distance fast and launch themselves at players from range. More unpredictable still is The Disciple, a semi-optional boss who appears at a random location mid-mission.
