When you have been doing things for 15 years, you know you’re experienced, and you know you have to keep things rolling to keep people engaged. For the Ironhide Game Studio team, they’ve been working on their 2D Tower Defense franchise for over 15 years, and to celebrate that, they decided to add a “Classic Mode” to their most recent title: Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis. Here’s a breakdown of the classic-style mode for you:

“Created as a tribute to the original 2011 game, Classic Mode will allow players to complete the full Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis campaign using one hero, the four original tower families, and the classic Rain of Fire and Reinforcements spells.

Players will be able to build Barracks, Archer, Mage and Artillery towers using their original upgrade paths, including familiar specialist towers such as the Rangers Hideout, Holy Order, Arcane Wizard, Tesla x104 and Big Bertha.”

The team was more than happy to speak about the new mode, as well as their franchise reaching this special milestone:

“Classic Mode is a love letter to the game that started everything,” said Gonzalo Sande, co-founder of Ironhide Game Studio. “It gives longtime players an opportunity to return to the strategies they remember, while introducing a new generation to the foundations of the series.”
