Hibera, Requiem for the Forgotten Demo Now Available on Steam

The demo for Bad Juice Games’s strategy RPG Hibera, Requiem of the Forgotten is now available on Steam. This version is an updated build of the one revealed earlier this year at A MAZE Berlin and GamerFest Dublin.

Taking inspiration from the GBA era of Fire Emblem, the game seeks to emulate a similar but distinct world as those fan-favorite RPGs:

“Hibera is set in a fantasy world undergoing a renaissance so military technology is shifting to similar to the 15th century in Europe. It is a particularly exciting period of history because a lot of different military technologies are all viable at the same time, and Hibera embraces them all.  The classic swords, and spears are joined by poleaxes, crossbows, and even arquebuses and grenados.”

Similarly, the demo highlights the unique gameplay in a bite-sized format:

  • 3 Mission story: Following Maebh who is setting out on a secretive mission to acquire an ancient artifact
  • Weapon Triangle: The classic Rock-Paper-Scissors mechanic, fully realized with modern additions
  • Unique playable characters each have their own story, strengths and weaknesses
  • Armory: An eclectic collection of weapons, spells, abilities and consumables allow for deep customization
  • Fog of War & Terrain: Strategic depth through vision and environmental bonuses set in a gorgeous 2.5D landscape
  • Inspired by: Irish culture and the Italian Renaissance”

The full release is planned to include a more complex main campaign, an expanded cast of characters and items/weapons, relatonship options, and additional class promotion paths. Check out the demo for Hibera, Requiem of the Forgotten on Steam.
