While humans love to say they can “survive in the wild,” animals have been doing that for a LOT longer than we have, and for good reason. For them, survival is natural, and in the upcoming Woodland Rebels title, you’ll get to see a fun twist on that concept. After all, how many times have you seen bears wield pitchforks, and wolves riding moose into battle? That is indeed what this 2D Survival title will offer you, and the team at Beak Berry Games has revealed that the first demo for the title will arrive on Steam on August 20th. Want to hear more? “Woodland Rebels is a 2D survival game with town management elements. You play as one animal species of your choice, meet with other NPC villagers, make alliances (and enemies), and unite the animals under your banner to face human invaders. It is a survival game where you control a main character, but with a strong focus on building a community to survive as opposed to surviving alone.

In the demo, you can play the entire first scenario on the small map size. Your goal in this scenario is to convince the scattered animal towns to unite under one banner to face humans.”

Sounds like fun! The team also promises that there will be lots of replay value in the demo, which means you’ll have the opportunity to test out many of its mechanics, such as these features:

• Sandbox survival game with randomly generated world.
• You control a main character, but with a strong focus on building a community to survive as opposed to surviving alone.
• You can assign tasks to other villagers or even recruit them to fight at your side.
• Scenarios give you a long term goal and determine the events that will trigger in your world, but don’t restrict you in any way as you can freely explore the world instead.
