It’s always exciting to see new VR games in development. Though a more niche system, there’s still plenty of headset fans out there that are eager to try out new games. SoulFire Studio Team and LingVision Games has announced that the multiplayer closed-beta test for their fantasy mixed-reality real-time strategy game The Great Flood has officially begun (previously, we covered a beta). The game is for Meta Quest VR.

This beta test is focused primarily on the multiplayer and strategy/combat aspects of the game, with both 1v1 and 2v2 battles being available. Testers will have other mechanics to try out, however:

“From unlocking new characters and alternating their squad of 10 troops to test new strategies, to upgrading their mythical monsters, the CBT delivers a tantalising array of options, even at this beta stage.”

Features of the CBT include:

• “Tutorial – Learn the art of squad-based combat
• Characters – Dozens of Mythical Units to unlock and deploy
• XP Progression – Level up to unlock new rewards and upgrades
• Real-Time Strategy – Pick troops off your arm and deploy directly onto the battlefield”

Applications to become a tester are still open, with the beta test running until August 18. To participate, aspiring testers must join The Great Flood Discord to discuss the game and deliver feedback. You can also find a sign-up form on the official Bluesky.
