“Sandcastle” Drops Demo on Steam for Wholesome Games Celebration

Sandbox games are wells of infinite creativity, fun, and gameplay hours. The most popular game in the world is a sandbox, proving just how must potential lays beneath the pale grains. Of course, a “sandbox” is not a literal sandbox, it’s more a metaphor for infinite possibilities. But what if it was? Bubblebird Studio has officially dropped the demo for Sandcastle on Steam, with a full release set for some time later this year. This is in coordination with the Wholesome Games Steam Celebration, which we will be covering soon.

In this game, the player must build the best sandcastle they can with the tools available:

“Unlock a variety of tools to gather wet sand, shape towering walls, carve intricate battlements, and engineer elaborate moats designed to withstand or divert the encroaching waves. No ticking clocks, only the slow rhythm of the tide and the warm glow of the sun. Discover secret treasures washed ashore or buried deep into the sand, each adding a touch of personality to your sandy masterpiece.”

To enable creativity and spice up gameplay, key features include:

  • “Beaches with unique water and sand physics simulation
  • Many tools to craft your castle with precision
  • 10 different beach layouts to unlock (lagoon, island, sand barrier, delta…)
  • Colorful and relaxing tropical sceneries
  • Many hidden objects to find and collect”
