“Guns & Dragons” Announces 100k Playtest Participants

•

A successful playtest can mean great things for a game, so it’s always great to see one surpass all expectations. After wrapping up their first public Steam Playtest, ABUTTON is proud to announce that more than 100,000 players signed up to access Guns & Dragons, spending a cumulative 46,000 hours and 80,000 wishlists.

In this roguelite FPS, up to three players must grab their guns or bows to explore the depths of caverns, dungeons, and more:

“Between runs, players expand their bases and develop gear infused with arcane technology that becomes ever-more powerful. Plan strategies that evolve with every run by combining runes, artifacts, and skills that make no two runs the same!

Whether you are chasing the perfect solo run, testing ridiculous weapon combos, or coordinating chaos with friends, your goals are simple: survive challenging combat, build impossible weapons, and see just how far over-engineered, fantastical firepower can take you.”

To celebrate this milestone, the South Korea-based studio has released player statistics from the playtest:

  • “WHAT: The first public Guns & Dragons Steam Playtest has officially concluded, attracting more than 100,000 sign-ups, with players logging over 46,000 cumulative hours during the test.
  • WISHLISTS: Guns & Dragons has now surpassed 80,000 wishlists on Steam.
  • WHAT DID PLAYERS BRING TO THE FIGHT?: Players put the game’s evolving arsenal to good use, with the Magnum HG ranking as the most-used Tier 2 weapon, followed by the Bullet Drill AR at Tier 3, Amber Horn SMG at Tier 4, and the Judgment Ray AR as the most-used Tier 5 weapon.
  • WHAT KILLED EVERYONE?: The Goblin Elite Shaman’s spell proved to be the deadliest attack in the Playtest, accounting for approximately 35% of recorded deaths, followed by the Ogre Chief’s club slam at around 30%.
  • HOW FAR DID THEY PUSH IT?: Players managed to clear Difficulty Level 50, the highest difficulty reached during the Playtest.
  • WHAT’S NEXT?: This was only the first opportunity to play Guns & Dragons. ABUTTON plans to offer additional hands-on opportunities in the coming months. Players can wishlist the game and register for future Playtests through Steam.”
