ARPG Roguelike Sunken Realms Releases This September

Under the surface lies all kinds of secrets, from ancient treasures to monstrous creatures. Well, at least in video games. You really only find stuff geologists are into in the real-world underground. But if you’ve got a penchant for discovery, the ARPG dungeon crawler Sunken Realms will be out on Steam September 18th.

Magic Puncher Games‘s newest release takes place in city cursed by the past, and with a player character who’s ready to uncover secrets:

“Decades ago, the underground city of Aedaria was cursed by the gods and fell into darkness. Since then it has lain undisturbed by man, nearly forgotten. The cursed city is said to swallow anyone foolish enough to pass its gates. Alric’s father went looking for the truth beyond them years ago. He never came back. Now it’s Alric’s turn, and over 10,000 players have already wishlisted the game to find out what he uncovers.”

As fights get tougher, the loot gets more and more enticing. The game bills itself as having roguelike mechanics, with key features including:

  • 109 hand-crafted rooms across six distinct sections, procedurally rearranged every time you enter the dungeon
  • Fluid melee and ranged combat
  • Learn spells to wield powerful, long-forgotten magic
  • Collect gold and crafting materials from vanquished foes and treasure chests
  • Return to camp to craft weapons, cook food, brew potions, trade, and upgrade your character at the Soul Forge
  • A heartfelt, personal story between two friends around the campfire between runs
  • Immersive, original score
