You may have noticed that a lot of standard card games are getting an “upgrade” in the gaming space. Poker especially has been getting a lot of roguelike twists in recent years, and one of those titles even had “Game of the Year” nominations! For the team at HabbyFun, they’ve got their own idea for how to make the game fun in new ways, and they’re calling it Piroker. Just as important, they’re going to debut the game for people to try out at PAX West! If you’re going, you can find them at Arch Building, Level 4, at Booth 52525. “In this 8-player free-for-all, luck isn’t enough; you need cold calculation to rule the Seven Seas! Select your pirate hero, each equipped with varying starter abilities, then enter the choice phase where you’ll select one special relic treasure that will uniquely alter the power you draw from the deck. Points are assigned and boosted by treasures and exotic fish, then blows are dealt to the lowest-scoring pirates of the round.

Arena mode lets you take the fight to the high seas! Enjoy asynchronous PvP and battle a ‘ghost fleet ’on your own time, or gather your crew and invite your mates to clash in a real-time lobby.

No two voyages are ever the same. Every run throws new pirates, relics, and mutant fish into the mix, giving you countless ways to build your crew. Assemble classic poker hands like pairs, straights, and full houses to trigger new crew abilities, reroll the shop and hunt for the perfect relic, and watch your strategy evolve with every choice. Read your rivals and spot their weaknesses to exploit every dirty trick you can find.”
